The Bard Knows Best
As Shakespeare’s Falstaff knew, “the better part of valor is discretion” and I couldn’t agree more. Which is why I decided to have a more tech savvy person than I look over my new theme before attempting to install it. E.F. looked it over and gave it a thumbs up.
Since I’m such a newbie, I’ve decided to use the theme demo site as my starting point. Apparently using the demo site junks up the WordPress installation with fake content (like the template demo blog posts, comments and members) but I think it will be easier for me to modify existing content and delete the stuff I don’t need, than it would be to start from scratch. We’ll see if that’s the right choice!
As a side note, I’ve also decided to add an “our team” section to the site, but with whimsical illustrations of the “staff” including Bluebird, Turtle, Espresso Fiend (tech advisor) and Flightless Lass (translator).
The next step is to actually install the new theme, argghhh! I’m a wee bit anxious about doing that without messing things up. Oh well, nothing ventured…you know the rest!
