Letting the Dream Die
With hope in my heart I screw my courage to the sticking post and log in to WordPress. Today is the day my theme will be conquered! Alas, I am wrong, wrong, wrong. Today was another day being conquered by my theme. Hours spent digging around trying to determine why in the world the demo site installation on my WP site looks so different from the theme company’s website resulted in only one change: the unwanted extra title section is no longer appearing. I’m not sure which adjustment actually accounts for the change however, since the browser is cacheing my site and doesn’t reflect the changes immediately. Oh bother. Time to call in tech support?
My theme purchase comes with 6 months of tech support, so let’s see if it’s worth the Benjamins. How easy do they make it to submit a question? Actually, trying to determine just where to go for tech support is a challenge too! I purchased my theme through Themeforest.net, which is a specialized store under the company Nevato Market. However my theme was created by a company called qodeinteractive, so maybe I should contact them directly for tech support?
It turns out that I can access tech support for my theme by either logging into Nevato Market or going directly to qodeinteractive. Neither place makes it especially easy to submit a ticket, but after digging around a bit I found the submission form and followed the prompts. They requested my purchase code, which I found eventually by performing a “Where do I find my Purchase Code?” search on Novato’s website. After much rigamarole and a few expletives, I finally successfully submitted my request for assistance. The ants at my outdoor cafe table just carried off my cup, so I think it’s time to end work for today. Au revoir!
