They’re Not Just For Furry Blue Monsters
I’ve submitted a new request to tech support to find out if my theme or any of its included plugins use cookies. Before submitting the request I searched the Help Center for information without any luck, as well as their Peggi theme Help docs, so a tech support ticket it is!
You might be wondering why I should care about cookies? According to allaboutcookies.org, “the USA has no specific federal cookie law. However, because other jurisdictions, such as the EU, Brazil, and the state of California do specify strict cookie handling requirements, this may mean that even USA-based websites require a cookie policy.”
The European Union requires that if your site uses cookies you must tell visitors that you use them and give visitors the opportunity to opt out. At this point I don’t intend to use cookies on my site, however my theme or some of the plugins they include might, in which case I will need to post a cookie policy.
Good news on the cookie front: I’ve heard back from tech support and my theme does not use cookies, so my work here is done! This must be the first time I’ve ever been happy about a lack of cookies!
